VOLUNTEERS
What times will I need to be available to volunteer?
A. There are several shifts available for volunteers on during
the Little Poss Appeal, both in the CBD, metro and regional areas. Volunteers
can nominate their preferred shifts by calling 1300 852 853 or by completing
a volunteer form here.
What will I be selling during the Little Poss Appeal?
A. We have a range of fun Little Poss Appeal merchandise including
our 'lights on' keyrings for $4, funky pens $3, mini pens to attach
to your mobile phone, diary (anywhere!) $3, and awareness wristbands
available in black or white. See our merchandise.
FUNDRAISING
What types of fundraising activities can I host?
A. Fundraising activities are only limited by your imagination!
As a start, why not host a free dress/casual day, a trivia night or
raffle! Read about more ways to fundraise for Epilepsy Queensland or
contact us for more information.
How do I publicise my event?
A. The best way to advertise your event or initiative is to
consider your target market, or who you would like to turn up. Do some
research into where they shop, what newspapers and magazines they read,
the schools they go to, where they work etc. Then write an enticing
description of your event, including why you're doing it, where and
when it's at and your contact details. You can then email this to your
local paper or radio station, get local shops to display in their window
and also ask friends to spread the word.
How do I send the money raised from my event to Epilepsy Queensland?
A. Once your event is officially approved by Epilepsy Queensland,
you will receive a deposit slip to directly deposit the funds at your
local Westpac branch. If possible, we request all proceeds from your
event be banked within two weeks of your event, and that you advise
Epilepsy Queensland of the details of your deposit.
MERCHANDISE
I can't volunteer for the Little Poss Appeal but would still
like to help. Can I purchase merchandise to sell through my club?
A. Absolutely! We're looking for people to sell merchandise
in the work place and through their local sporting or social club.
Buy merchandise
Is the purchase of merchandise tax deductible?
A. No, because goods are received in return for your contribution.
Where can I sell merchandise?
A. Anywhere - to your family and friends, at your workplace,
at your school, sporting club and community club.
What happens if I run out?
A. Call us and we'll send you some more!
What do I do with merchandise left over after the Little Poss
Appeal?
A. It is best for Epilepsy Queensland if you can sell all your
merchandise. If you have any left over, please return the remaining
stock to:
Epilepsy Queensland Inc
Reply Paid 1457,
Coorparoo BC Qld 4151
At the end of the campaign, please bank all proceeds into Epilepsy
Queensland's bank account, the details of which would have been supplied
to you with your merchandise box.
DONATIONS
Are donations tax deductible?
A. Yes. Any monetary donations $2 and above are tax deductible.
Can I get a receipt?
A. Yes if you make a monetary donation of $2 or more. We will
need to take your name and address which will be forwarded to Epilepsy
Queensland. An official receipt will then be issued. We are not able
to issue receipts for the purchase of Little Poss Appeal merchandise.
