September Sizzle Heroes

Wally Sizzle
Need inspiration for your September Sizzle?  Check out these fantastic sizzles held in 2017 by our Heroes for epilepsy.  Remember it doesn't have to involve a lot of work, a breakfast or dinner, BBQ or morning tea, sizzle your way in 2018!

David put on a sausage sizzle for a group of enthusiastic clients.  Armed with prizes donated for a raffle, his September Sizzle Kit, and Everyday Hero online fundraising page David’s September Sizzle barbecue was a success, raising vital funds and awareness for epilepsy and seizure first aid.

Lynn has first-hand experience with seizure first aid as her daughter was recently diagnosed with epilepsy so was keen to hold two September Sizzle events.
  • Lynn’s local fitness group shared a sausage sizzle as well as their own experiences with seizure first aid. With statistics as high as one in 10 people who will have a seizure during their lifetime it is amazing how many people know someone who has had a seizure.
  • Lynn then held a morning tea at her office where everyone brought along a plate of delicious goodies to share with the boardroom table decorated in epilepsy purple and seizure first aid information.

Dale saw September Sizzle on Epilepsy Queensland’s Facebook and was eager to do something.  With his supermarket employer onside, Dale held a Cupcake Day at the front of his store.  Selling Epilepsy Queensland merchandise along with delicious cupcakes, Dale provided seizure first aid information from his September Sizzle Kit and had a chat to those wanting to know more.

Seth teamed up with his local fishing club to host a BBQ and raffle outside their BCF store.  Seth decorated a table in epilepsy purple with balloons and seizure first aid information provided in his September Sizzle Kit.  BCF kindly donated the raffle prize and along with the support of the fishing club’s BBQ they were able to raise funds and awareness for epilepsy and seizure first aid.

Rosemary , a seasoned fundraiser knows how a simple enjoyable afternoon tea can make a real difference.  Rosemary invited friends and family to bring a plate and a small donation to share for a relaxing afternoon together.

Matthew loves getting together with friends and family over a BBQ so thought why not add a bit of sizzle and raise some funds for seizure first aid.  Setting up an Everyday Hero fundraising page online, Matthew was able to receive donations from his guests without having to handle any cash.  He also shared the link to his online fundraising through social media so even those who couldn’t attend were able to donate.

Karen’s September Sizzle Sushi night went off with a bang!  Friends and family gathered for a great night to watch and celebrate Brisbane's RiverFire while raising vital funds and awareness for seizure first aid.

Jenny  hosted a simple morning tea at work with two scrumptious cakes to share with her colleagues in return for a small donation.  Keen to share Epilepsy Queensland’s message of seizure first aid, Jenny played the quiz provided in her September Sizzle Kit.  Everyone got involved as Jenny played quizmaster, handing out little chocolates for every correct answer.  Such a simple fundraiser made a big impact raising awareness for epilepsy.

Jenna hosted an office sweepstake based on the outcomes of television show ‘The Bachelorette’ with all funds raised going to September Sizzle for Seizure First Aid.  Small donated prizes were given to the winners of each sweepstake.

These are just some great tried and tested September Sizzles which really show that YOU can do just about anything to raise vital funds and awareness for seizure first aid.   If you have an idea for for your own September Sizzle or just want to make a difference for those living with epilepsy and seizures, please contact us for a chat today.
