Assistive Technology (AT) Assessments

Under the Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living (Therapy Supports) section of a participant’s NDIS plan, an experienced team member can provide Assistive Technology (AT) Assessments of the person’s unique epilepsy-related needs, particularly where the epilepsy is complex or unclear and make recommendations as to assistive technology options. This assistive technology may include seizure monitoring devices, cooling devices and other approved items.
Depending on the specific needs and circumstances, this assessment may be done in the participant’s home, Epilepsy Queensland office, or via phone or skype.
As some suppliers for equipment may not be registered with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), you may need to consider this section of your plan being Self-managed or Plan Managed. Please discuss this with your NDIS Planner.
