Medication is usually the first line treatment of epilepsy. 70% of people diagnosed with epilepsy will gain seizure control with medication. While today epilepsy is mostly treated with medication, it is not a cure and only provides control of seizures. Medication comes in various forms, capsules, tablets, syrup.

For some people who have difficult to control seizures, there are often other treatment options available to them.

Surgery, VNS, medication and dietary therapies are some of those other options and are addressed on the following pages.
