Volunteers play an integral role in Epilepsy Queensland’s success. In 2016, our much-valued volunteers once again gave us their time and talent in a range of capacities.
We greatly appreciate the assistance they provided with administrative and general office tasks; and with a variety of fundraising and awareness-raising activities and events such as Purple Day and the Purple Procession and the Little Poss Appeal. Our volunteers’ help as guest speakers at special events and their willingness to provide support to people affected by epilepsy have also been of immense value to Epilepsy Queensland. Their work truly does help to “bring epilepsy out of the shadows”.
During the 2016 year, we were once again grateful beneficiaries of the National Australia Bank’s (NAB’s) Employee Volunteering Program. Since the beginning of the program in 1998, the NAB has built relationships with several hundred community organisations. Epilepsy Queensland is one of these organisations and we very much appreciate the partnership. During their time with us, the NAB staff have very enthusiastically and effectively carried out a variety of administrative tasks.
All of the volunteers who give of themselves to help Epilepsy Queensland deserve to be acknowledged and thanked.
